The Adaptive Grief Response (AGR)

Adaptive Grief Response™ (AGR) is a faith-centered framework developed by Shiloh SoulCare Services LLC to guide compassionate grief companionship. The AGR framework provides the theological and pastoral foundation used within the Rhythm of Grief® Program, equipping churches, ministry leaders, and grief companions to walk with individuals through grief with presence, spiritual formation, and hope.

AGR is not a clinical model. It is a pastoral and spiritual care framework designed for use in church and faith-based settings.

The AGR invites us into five Spirit-led movements:

  1. Recognizing & Responding – Naming grief honestly.

  2. Releasing & Receiving – Letting go of burdens, opening to God’s comfort.

  3. Rebalancing & Renewing – Finding strength and new rhythms of life.

  4. Reimagining & Restoring – Awakening to faith and love.

  5. Integration & Blessing – Honoring the journey, carrying hope forward.

The AGR is not about rushing through grief. It is about walking with God in His timing, with companions who listen, pray, and care.
