Grief Experience Survey

Where grief is met with compassion and life breaks through

About Haven of Hope

About Us

Haven of Hope is a faith-rooted grief support ministry, creating sacred spaces of rest, renewal, and transformation. We believe no one should walk through grief alone.

Guided by the Adaptive Grief Response™ (AGR) model — a faith-based framework for healing — we companion individuals and churches through circles of care, retreats, and resources that help mourners find courage, strength, and hope.

At Haven of Hope, grief is not the end of the story. It is where God meets us with compassion, and where new life begins to break through.

The Adaptive Grief Response (AGR)

At Haven of Hope, we walk alongside those who grieve through the Adaptive Grief Response™ (AGR) — a Christ-centered framework for healing that gently honors both the weight of sorrow and the hope of new life.

The AGR invites us into five Spirit-led movements:

  1. Recognizing & Responding – Naming grief honestly.

  2. Releasing & Receiving – Letting go of burdens, opening to God’s comfort.

  3. Rebalancing & Renewing – Finding strength and new rhythms of life.

  4. Reimagining & Restoring – Awakening to faith and love.

  5. Integration & Blessing – Honoring the journey, carrying hope forward.

The AGR is not about rushing through grief. It is about walking with God in His timing, with companions who listen, pray, and care.

Why Haven of Hope

  • A diverse group of women sitting in a circle indoors, participating in a support or discussion group.

    Free to Participants

Every Circle of Care is facilitated by trained Grief Companions who provide support at no cost. We believe grief care should never be out of reach, and generosity makes this ministry possible.

  • A classroom or conference room with people attending a presentation. The presenter stands at a podium near a large blank screen, with two whiteboards on either side. The room has wooden paneling on the front wall, windows on the left side, and framed pictures on the side walls. Attendees are seated in rows of wooden benches and chairs, facing the presenter.

    Built for the Church

Haven of Hope invites the church back to the sacred practice of lament — creating space for sorrow, prayer, and healing within the body of Christ. This ministry was created to strengthen congregations and equip them to companion one another through life’s deepest losses.

    Transformational Approach

Haven of Hope uses the Adaptive Grief Response™ (AGR) — a Christ-centered model that honors both the weight of sorrow and the hope of new life. The AGR offers a gentle rhythm, guiding mourners to name their grief honestly, release what weighs heavy, find balance again, reimagine life with renewed faith, and carry forward a blessing of hope. It is not about rushing through grief, but about walking with God in His timing.
